About Us...

Welcome to Spring Valley Congregational Church (SVCC) we pray that you would consider worshiping with us on a regular basis. SVCC is a congregational church that is affiliated with the
Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (4Cs).

The Conservative Congregational Christian Conference is a theologically conservative denomination believing in the self-sufficiency (autonomy) of each local church with Jesus Christ as the ruling head of the body. Below you will find our Vision Statement, Mission and our values. Please read through for a better understanding of who we are and a brief summary of what we believe.

OUR VISION STATEMENT

To love God, love others and make disciples (who in turn love God, love others and make disciples)

THE MISSION OF SVCC

1)
Connect with Christ and others in ways that challenge and deepen our faith and trust in Jesus.
2)
Build the body of Christ (outreach and in reach) )
3)
Serve others in Christ’s name.

What We Believe ...

Doctrine
GOD:  There is only one God and He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or otherwise known as the God of the Bible.
He is....
Sovereign:  God is all powerful and completely in control.
     Omniscient:  God is all knowing.
     Omnipresent:  God is everywhere.
     Creator:  Creator of ALL things.

JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man who came to show humanity the way to the Kingdom of Heaven.
His Death:  Jesus gave his life as a sacrifice to atone for our sins.
His Resurrection: Jesus rose from the dead for God's glory and our justification.
His Return:  Jesus will return physically (but do not know when) and every knee will bow and every tongue confess He is Lord.

THE HOLY SPIRIT:  The Holy Spirit is God and the third person of the Trinity.  He abides in the believer and empowers him to live his life for God's glory.
Abides:  The Spirit abides in the believer.
Empowers:  The Spirit empowers the believer to live for God's glory
Gifts:  God has given believers gifts of the Spirit which are to be used for the building and edifying of the Church.
Works:  We believe the gifts of Holy Spirit are still available today and should be used according to the Bible.

THE BIBLE:  Is the Word of God spoken to men throughout the ages and written (through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) for the benefit of man and the Glory of God

SALVATION:  Humanity is born sinful and in need of a savior.  Only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ can one have eternal salvation.

Government
We believe Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and exercises His authority over the body.
The autonomy of the local Church.
The need for the local church to seek fellowship and counsel of other such churches.
