Outreach
Missions
We want to be a "missions-minded" church because the World is on God's heart.  Currently we support a number of various local and world missionaries.  You may contact the church for a list of Missionaries we sponsor.

    Operation Christmas Child
Sunday School students and the church family collect empty shoeboxes and fill them with fun toys, gifts, and needed items for less fortunate children around the world. Each year we put together shoeboxes with gifts for children and we dedicate, bless, and send them on their way.  We continually pray that these boxes get to the intended children who can learn about Jesus’ love for them. For more information you can visit Operation Christmas Child.

    Food Pantry
Local area churches are responsible for collecting items for the Spring Valley Community Food Pantry. Needed items include non-perishable food, paper products and personal hygiene items. Spring Valley Congregational Church is primarily responsible during the months of May & October, and share that responsibility with other local churches during November & December. Although meat is a perishable item, arrangements can be made for storage as it is always in need, as well.

Bring your donations to the church and the Food Pantry coordinator for our church will make sure they get to the pantry, as well as keep us updated on their needs. Summer is normally a time of heavy use for the Food Pantry so your donations, either monetary or food-related, are greatly appreciated.
If you know of a needy person or family that could benefit from this assistance, you can let the food pantry coordinators know on their behalf, keeping the information confidential.
     Thank you for your contributions.

    SHARE Food Co-op
The SHARE (Self Help And Resource Exchange) program is a not-for-profit organziation building and strengthening communities by promoting volunteer service and helping people save money on food each month.

Program participants volunteer their time in the communities, entitling them to select their monthly food order at reduced price. SHARE is more than just food. Everyone in SHARE is asked to give two hours per month to some form of volunteer activity. Any act of kindness you do for another person or organization counts. If you already volunteer (church, school, scouts, etc.), you're qualified! SHARE distributes food one a month at the Spring Valley Congregational Church as a supplement to regular purchases made at your local grocery store. For more information about this month's menu or to find a SHARE host site in your community, contact
    www.sharewi.org.
